Rain, Plastic Eggs, and Lots of Smiles!!!

Mia and I went to Heavener for Easter weekend.  Wesley couldn't go, unfortunately, because he had to work on Saturday.  I let Mia have her Easter basket last Sunday since I knew we wouldn't be here.  It was hard to get a picture of her with the basket because the little stinker kept getting candy out of it.  She would hand it me and say, "I want this one please!"  That girl loves her candy.  The weekend didn't start off too great.  On Friday morning, I had car "issues", so I wasn't able to leave work at noon as planned.  I didn't pick Mia up until 4:00pm.  Getting out of Dallas takes awhile at that time of day.  We spent much of the drive ahead of one storm and behind another.  It was all worth it when we got there, though.  Mia got to spend all weekend playing with Zoey.  Zoey is sitting up really well now.  She likes to make funny sounds and bob her head back and forth when you sing to her.  Z gets prettier every time I see her.  Mia isn't as jealous of her as she used to be.  For some reason, she only got a little jealous about diaper changes.  Poor Mimi had to change Zoey's diapers as well as several of Mia's.  Mia didn't want me to do it.  She kept saying, "Mimi's turn!"  I must admit that I didn't mind not changing a couple of dirty diapers!  We had our family get-together at my dad's on Saturday.  I'm happy as a clam when I'm surrounded by my family.  I just wish Wesley could have been there.  Mia was the littlest "egg hunter", so there were a lot of eggs in plain sight for her to find.  She kept saying, "Right there! Another one!"  There were a few dyed, hard-boiled eggs.  Dad's black lab, Mattie, found one and started chowing down, blue shell and all.  Gross.  Hehe!  One of the eggs Mia found was nestled in a small cluster of poison ivy.  Unfortunately, she had already picked it up before someone pointed it out to me.  I scrubbed her hands good with lots of soap, and we never saw any sign of it later (thank goodness).  Mia kept hunting eggs, but she wanted to open each plastic one as she found it to look for candy.  She ate entirely too much candy this weekend, but I guess she needs to let loose sometimes!

  Now, pictures from this weekend.

Mia is on the hunt for sugary treasure!

A couple of local residents came walking by the yard while we were out there.  They seemed surprised to see a bunch of humans picking up colored eggs.
This one's got candy - jackpot!
