Party Time!

My sweet niece, Annabelle, turned 2 years old, so we went to Heavener for her birthday party this weekend.  Quinn and Annabelle played with her birthday balloons more than anything else.  Family time is the best time!  We loved celebrating our precious Annabelle.  Her smile lights up a room.  She's such a happy girl!  Happy birthday, Little Bit!

Mia's Superhero

Mia's Girl Scout troop had a dance this evening.  The theme was "My Superhero and Me".  It was a dance for fathers and daughters.  The girls could bring their dads (or grandpas, uncles, etc.) for an evening celebrating the men who are positive role models in the lives of our Girl Scouts.  The girls and guys were asked to dress up as superheros.  Mia was excited about her costume and called herself Captain AmeriGirl.  She loved that her shield was glittery.  She loves spending time with her daddy, so having an evening together was nice for them.  They had a great time, and Mia won a door prize.  It was a movie night gift basket with candy, popcorn, etc.  She loved it!

Wear Your Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  My Irish babies like to dress up in their green.  Mia loved getting decked out, but Quinn was playing the cool guy.  I couldn't get him to smile for a picture, but he liked wearing his Irish shirt, too.  No getting pinched for these two!

Dinosaur Weekend Part II

The drive through safari was fun. It was actually really large.  Mia and Quinn were able to throw food pellets out the window and squeal excitedly when the animals ate them.  Most of the animals roamed freely and mingled with one another.  However, they also had some animals that had to be separated from the others such as the cheetahs and rhinos.  Those were fun to see...behind fences...from the safety of our car.  Haha!  There was a rest area and petting zoo halfway through.  The kids liked the goats, and Quinn enjoyed brushing one.  The kids measured themselves to see which animals were as tall as they were.  Quinn was as tall as a cheetah, and Mia was as tall as a zebra.  They got a kick out of that.

Dinosaur Weekend Part I

Wes and I had to work all last week during Mia's spring break.  We thought it would be fun the weekend before school started back to take the kids somewhere.  We decided to take a trip to Glen Rose, TX for a couple of days.  It's close to the Metroplex, so the drive was so fast!  The reason we chose Glen Rose is because of dinosaurs.  There are several sites in the area where fossilized dinosaur footprints have been uncovered in the riverbeds.  It's pretty amazing to see.  We showed them to the kids, but to be honest, they enjoyed wading in the water the most.  :)

Glen Rose also has a place called Dinosaur World that has all things dino.  There was a path through the property that had tons of life-sized dinosaurs.  Mia and Quinn loved it and ran from one to the next.  Mia tried to read some of the names and descriptions to Quinn.  He was more interested in practicing his T-Rex roar.  They also got to dig for fossils and pan for gems.

There is also a drive through safari that Mia and Quinn liked.  More about that in the next post!
