Pie in the Sky

We went out for dessert this evening after dinner.  There is an amazing pie shop in Bishop Arts called Emporium Pies.  They are sensational.  Mia and Quinn aren't big on pie, so Wesley and I got our's to go, and we walked down to the ice cream shop so the kids could get some dessert, too.  On the way back to the car, Mia noticed the fence covered in musical notes, and it put her in a singing mood.  She loves to play pretend and be dramatic, so she was really hamming it up.  I love her spirit!

Pinkies Up

Mia and I were invited to a tea party this afternoon with Mia's friend, Emma, and her family.  The table was set formally (and beautifully).  There were several different teas each served in different tea cups with new sets of hors d'oeuvres (yes, I had to google that to spell it).  Mia was in pure little girl heaven.  Fancy glasses for pink lemonade, mini cupcakes, delicate tea cups...she adored it.  She loved spending time with her sweet friend, Emma.  They had a great time!

Blue Eyes and Bluebonnets

One of my favorite Texan things to do is take bluebonnet pictures of the kids.  It's hard for us to coordinate our schedules with the peak of the bluebonnet season, but we managed to make it down to Ennis this spring.  Finding a good patch of bluebonnets that isn't blocked off on private property can be a challenge.  We managed to find a couple of good spots, though.  Get ready for bluebonnet overload.  Picking favorites proved to be difficult.

Scoot to School

This week Mia's school is doing their bike to school week.  It's one of the favorite activities of the year for both students and parents.  Mia opted to ride her scooter today.  I was glad because I had to drive part of the way there before she got to ride.  We live too far for me to walk her to school and then take Quinn to daycare and get myself to work on time.  She met up with her friend, Penny, when we arrived.  They rode in together.  I pushed Quinn in his stroller to the school and then back to the car.  We'll do that again tomorrow, too.  She'll ride with friends a couple of days, too.  Such a fun week!

Through the Haze

Pardon the hazy pictures from our Sunday.  I should have wiped off the lens.  I came into the living room to see Mia puzzling over one of Wesley's books.  She said she was learning math.  Quinn settled himself in the ottoman to play with his toys.  Nice, low key Sunday!

Ice Cream in the BAD

Wes and I took Mia to the Bishop Arts District after school today for some ice cream.  She likes having Mommy and Daddy to herself once in awhile.  After ice cream, though, she was ready to go get her brother.  She likes having him around.  :)
