Award-Winning Daddy

I just noticed on Mia's birthday ticker that she is two years, two months, two weeks, and two days old.  I love it!

Last night Wesley and I went to an awards banquet for the city he works for.  He won the Civilian of the Year award for the police department.  I was really proud of him.  We had a good dinner and got to hang out with some friends.  Nana and Keith watched Mia while we went.  It's nice to have a date night once in awhile.  Add that to a free dinner, and you've got a great evening!

Mia had a lot of fun hunting Easter eggs in the front yard with Nana and Keith this morning.  She was really good at it.  Once again, she stayed home with them while we went out grocery shopping.  When we got back, they had to head home.  After a little lunch, we went over to our friends' house.  Wes helped Jon work on putting together a swing set for Harper and Jasper while the rest of us hung out with the kiddos.  Mia and Harper always have a great time.  Jasper is a pretty fast crawler.  He'll be zipping around with those other two before long!  Harper had a Dora cake for her birthday that Mia really liked.  Naturally, Mia ended up with more frosting on her face than in her mouth, but she loved it.  She didn't want to leave at the end of our visit!
Mia really likes "helping" Daddy with yard work

Ready to go play with Harper and Jasper!

I think it was Holly who said that Mia looked like an Apache with the icing on her face like that. Haha!
