Uncle Darvey was here this weekend to visit. He and Wesley went to a Rangers game on Saturday. Mia enjoys playing with him and showing him her new tricks. She has started climbing the stairs up to the attic. For anyone who has seen those stairs, you know how steep they are and that they spiral around 90 degrees by the time they reach the top. She zips up them with no problem. On Sunday, Mia and I went to the park. She likes to run around and watch the ducks. I slathered sunscreen on her, put on her sunglasses, and plopped a hat on her head. As usual, the sunglasses lasted all of five seconds. I took us both some water because it was sweltering. Because it was just the two of us plus her stroller, I took her Eddie Bauer Harness Buddy. I affectionately call it the "baby leash". It looks like a pink dog. I am soooo glad that I bought it! It comes in handy when she wants to walk on a sidewalk that is near a lot of traffic or times like this when I need her to stay close. Mia doesn't mind wearing it at all. She ran around some, but then her cheeks started looking really pink. I keep her inside the house most of the time right now because she gets so hot. July in Texas is not the best time to spend all day in the heat. We were there about an hour and then headed back to the house. Hopefully, our park trips will be more frequent when the weather starts cooling off (in a couple of months).
Happy New Year!
