Tasty Spoon

We have been working with Mia on spoon feeding. She doesn't mind sitting in her high chair, which is a plus. She will accept the spoon being put in her mouth. That's about as far as the process goes. Instead of eating the rice cereal, she just wants to chew on the spoon. No matter what amount of cereal I put on the spoon whether it's barely any or a lot, she just spits it out and continues gnawing on the spoon. I'm not entirely sure how much of it gets swallowed. Finally, I usually give in and just let her play with the spoon. It's just baby steps, I guess. She doesn't get upset. She's just not that interested yet. Oh well, all in good time I suppose. I'm trying to work on it with her now, because the pediatrician said she should be on baby food by six months. He said I could give it to her at four months, but she wanted nothing to do with it at that point. She goes for her six month checkup in a couple of weeks. I'm sure at that point she will be average for her weight rather than too small. The literature I've read said that many babies double their birth weight by six months. I'm pretty sure she won't be that big, though.

I'm really pleased with this Sunday's photo session. Our new camera is similar to the one I use at work, so I get along with it better than the old one. I started to think at one point that maybe I shouldn't put Mia's age in weeks any longer. Maybe I should switch to months. However, I plan to do these Sunday pictures every week until she is a year old. After that, we'll just take pictures as they come up. In case it's confusing, Mia is 5 1/2 months old.

Mia at 24 weeks

Spoon...yum yum!
