The Girl is Stylin'

Mia looked like a little china doll today at church. She wore a dress that Aunt Elisia and Grandma Ella Mae got her. It's so cute with the pink ribbon and silvery lace. I still get surprised that I like to put such girly stuff on her. Before she was born, I said "don't buy her pink!", and now I can't get enough of it. Go figure.

This picture is for her daddy.
He thought this was a funny face.

I've never been that fashion-minded, but I love dressing Mia up. Happily, she complies with whatever I put on her most of the time. She does well with hats, generally, which is a good thing since she doesn't have much hair. Hats help out on hot, sunny days. I love the little flip flops and tennis shoes. She even has a little pair of tie-dyed crocs. Auntie Jill got Mia a hat for her baby shower. She has been waiting for Mia's head to get big enough to wear it. It's still a tad big, but I couldn't resist putting it on her yesterday.

"I'm ready for my close-up!"

The hat ended up in her mouth as most things do now.
On Friday, I decided it was time to start showing Mia how to sit up on her own. I was going to hold her up and show her how to put her hands down to prop herself up. She looked at me like she thought this was funny. She wasn't big on putting her hands on the floor. She much rather preferred to just sit up! She can only hold herself up for 3-4 seconds at a time, but I couldn't believe she did so well on her first try. She can do it long enough for me to take a picture, anyway. I figure that's pretty good.
