Speaking Up

Quinn has been getting more independent.  I wanted to list on here how many words he's saying, but I don't think I can remember them all.  Some of the words he says have multiple meanings.  "Ba" can mean either ball or bath.  "Da" is Daddy or dark.  He also says "wa" (water), "Ma" (Mama), "Ya" (Mia), bye bye, hi, night night, apple, Elmo, "baseba" (baseball), eye, "no" (nose).  I'm sure there are others, but those are some of the ones he uses the most.  He loves goldfish crackers.  When he wants some, he doesn't say anything, he just makes a fish face.  It's so adorable that I give in every time.

Sometimes Quinn lets us know he has a dirty diaper before we check him.  If he needs to be changed, he'll run up to one of us and point to his diaper.  If it's stinky, he'll pinch his nose to let us know it smells.  Haha!

Quinn wants to walk everywhere now.  Exploring is one of his favorite things to do.  He likes to take off running even if he doesn't have a destination in mind.  He's making all kinds of animal sounds, too.  He doesn't say any of the animal names.  If he sees a dog, he points excitedly and says, "Woof! Woof!"  He also does a good impression of a cat, cow, sheep, and bird.  He makes the same roaring sound for bear, lion, or tiger.  Q likes to carry around a stuffed toy now, too.  His current fave is his blue puppy dog.
