Crib Curtain

I went to check on Quinn just now because he's supposed to be taking a nap.  He appears to be asleep, but before he laid down, it looks like he constructed a curtain.  Maybe he was trying to make it darker...or make a fort.  :)

Christmas in the Garden Part II

More pictures from the Arboretum today:

Christmas in the Garden Part I

We went back to the Arboretum with Mimi and Zoey to check out the Christmas displays.  They have them scattered about the grounds.  Each one depicts one of the 12 days of Christmas.  I didn't get a picture of all of them, but they were really impressive.  I took my good camera, so I got lots of good pictures.  The kids' hair was a bit crazy, but they were having a great time.  I loved getting pictures of them being so happy.  I also loved enjoying such nice weather in December!  I'm going to split this post into two parts because I ended up with lots of great pictures to share!

Hayride

The Dad's Club at Mia's school sponsored a hayride for the kids this evening.  They had some craft activities in the cafeteria, and they had two flatbed trailers piled with haybales constantly taking passengers around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights and decorations.  Mom and Zoey went with Mia, Quinn, and I.  As we were getting on, Mia's friend, Riley, spotted us and hopped on, too.  We had nice weather and lots of pretty lights to look at.  The kids really enjoyed it!

Q's Christmas Program

Quinn's daycare always has a Christmas program.  Each class goes onstage to sing one or two songs.  It's not fancy, but it sure is precious to all of us parents/grandparents/etc. to watch our little ones onstage.  After lunch, Quinn went back onstage to sing a little more. :)

Sparkle!

This was our first year to go to Sparkle! at the Hilton Anatole.  They have a huge ballroom at the hotel converted to a Christmas wonderland.  There was a ton to do.  The kids went to have their picture taken from Santa.  The experience was the most exciting for Wes and I though.  The kids went up to see Santa, and the elf welcomed Wes and I to come up with them and get a family picture.  I thought that was so nice!  Next, I hurried back down to catch a picture of each child coming down the slide.  It looked just like A Christmas Story!  So amazing!  Wes and I couldn't get over it.  It was great!

They also had bounce houses and little playhouses scattered throughout.  One thing Mia wanted to try was the ice skating.  She just went around several times while holding onto the sides of the rink but said that she liked it.  She then talked her awesome daddy into jumping onto the velcro wall with her.  Wes was a little put off at having to wear the velcro suit (because let's face it, who knows who else had been wearing it before him).  He did it for his girl, though.  Her velcro suit made it difficult for her to jump, so he threw her up onto the wall.  Haha!  It was fun to watch!

There were craft tables set up, so the kids made a snowman to take home.  There were other things to do too, but we didn't have time to do it all.  It was tons of fun, and I look forward to going again next year!
