Park Over the Freeway

Dallas constructed the neatest park downtown.  The built it over Woodall Rogers Freeway.  I was skeptical when it was first announced that they were going to build it.  I'd never heard of a concept like that, and I wasn't really sure what to expect.  It definitely didn't sound appealing in theory.  Granted, I didn't read about the plans for it at length, but I just thought I'd wait to see the finished product.  We finally went to visit Klyde Warren Park, and I must say that it was really something.  It was beautiful, well thought out, and PACKED.  We went on Saturday afternoon, so there were a ton of people.  There were also food trucks parked along the sidewalk in case you got hungry.  One of the weird notions I had in my head is that the park would sway a little or otherwise indicate all of the traffic flowing beneath it.  I was totally wrong about that, though.  It was as firm as solid ground.  I loved the atmosphere!  Mia loved running around in the grass.  Sometimes it doesn't take much to make that kid happy!
