Beat the Heat

Even though soaring temperatures prevailed this weekend, we still had some fun.  On Friday, Wesley, Mia, and I went to our friendly neighborhood Mexican burger joint, Burguesa.  Talk about tasty.  Then, we went and milled around Home Goods for awhile.  Sometimes it's just fun to browse.

On Saturday, we met the Hanes family at Jump Zone so that the kids could play.  Mia LOVES playing with Harper.  She was so excited that morning that she couldn't take a nap.  Probably shouldn't have told her about it in advance I guess.  Mia's favorite was the giant inflatable slide with an elephant on it.  She kept shrieking that Dumbo was on the slide.  She was a little too short to climb onto it , so I had to give her a boost each time.  Then, she would climb up the rest of the way just fine.  After awhile, I noticed Harper trying to give her a boost.  Haha!  Harper is so sweet to Mia.  It's great to watch them because they get along so well.

We had a lazy day on Sunday.  Mia's outfit of choice was her ice cream shirt and pink/purple tutu.  She loves to spin and say, "I'm a ballerina!!"  That evening I told her that she could have some ice cream if she ate her dinner.  When she was finished, she asked for ice cream.  I told her that I would give her some in a minute when I finished my dinner.  She waited a minute and then said, "I want ice cream."  Trying to get her to add "please" onto the end I said, "Ice cream...what?"  Mia stood up on the dining chair and both clearly and loudly enunciated, "ICE...KA...REAM!"  It was difficult not to laugh.  I told her that I had heard her just fine but that she needed to remember to say please to which she replied, "Oh! Okay."  Silly goose.
Burguesa...yum.
